Gerard J. Kennedy
Gerard J Kennedy, B.A. (Toronto), J.D. (Queen's), LL.M. (Harvard), Ph.D. (Osgoode) is an associate professor and associate dean at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, which he joined in 2023. He teaches and researches in the areas of civil procedure, administrative law, and constitutional law. He was previously a member of the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba from 2020 to 2023. His research and teaching concentrate on the role of courts in Canada’s constitutional order, mostly through an analysis of procedural law, administrative law, and constitutional law. He has been a visiting scholar at NYU School of Law and the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law. Prior to entering full-time academia, he was a litigator at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and a law clerk at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice
