Dan Gilbert had a 29-year career in policing, with both the Metropolitan Toronto Police Service and the Midland Police Service, retiring with the rank of Inspector. He enjoyed a secondment to the Ontario Police College in the final two years of his police career, teaching new recruits. Immediately following his Police College secondment, Dan moved to a full-time teaching position in Georgian College’s Police Foundations and Law and Security Administration programs. He functioned as the coordinator of the Police Foundations Program for the final seven of his nine years at Georgian College. Dan taught provincial offences at both the Ontario Police College and at Georgian College.
